CALEDONIA

Teen robbed outside workplace

An 18-year-old employee at Greg’s Catering, 3124 Roberts St., was robbed of his wallet containing $40 and struck in the face during a robbery at 10:20 p.m. Friday in a parking lot outside the business.

The victim, who lives nearby in downtown Franksville, said he was outside in his vehicle when the two unknown assailants appeared out of the darkness and displayed what is believed to be a dark-colored handgun. After robbing and assaulting the teen, the suspects fled on foot northbound on Roberts.


Caledonia police and Racine County Sheriff’s deputies looked for the suspects, but were unsuccessful.

WIND LAKE

Man facing charges after bar brawl


A 35-year-old Wind Lake man is facing pending charges of battery and disorderly conduct after a disturbance just after 11 p.m. Saturday at Kelly’s Bleachers II, 7805 S. Loomis Road.

According to Racine County Sheriff’s Department reports, the disturbance began after staff at the nightclub refused service to Keith Clarence Smith, 7951 E. Long Lake Road, because of concerns about him allegedly being intoxicated. A scuffle with security personnel ensued and two Kelly’s Bleachers staff members were allegedly assaulted, reports indicate. One received a kick to the groin area and another was struck in the groin, stomach and legs. The injuries were not thought to be serious.

Smith was transported to the Racine County Jail.

RACINE

Shots fired near 10th and Hilker

Police were called to the area of 10th Street and Hilker Place Sunday night for a report of multiple gunshots being fired in the area.

Reports said residents of the area saw two suspects get out of a green Cadillac and run south into a yard in the 1000 block of 10th Street. Then more than eight gunshots were heard.

Police said a maroon Mercury parked in the area had the driver’s side rear window shot out. Both the Mercury and the Cadillac remained parked near the scene when officers arrived.

Reports said 10 9mm shell casings were recovered from the southeast corner of Hilker Place at 10th Street. Police also found identifying information in both vehicles.

RACINE

School break-in reported

A teacher at Dr. Jones Elementary School, 3300 Chicory Road, discovered evidence of a break-in Thursday morning, according to Racine police.

Officers were called to the school around 7:45 p.m. When they arrived they found an open window and a torn window screen.

Reports said nothing was taken or disturbed in the incident.

RACINE

Lewd exposure by store clerk reported

A 25-year-old woman told Racine police she was the victim of a lewd exposure by a clerk at the BP Food Mart, 4301 Washington Ave., Wednesday afternoon.

Reports said the woman went to the store and bought a pack of cigarettes using her credit card. She told officers that after she left, the clerk came out to her car and said he made a mistake with her receipt.

Police said the woman went back into the store. The male clerk allegedly went behind the counter and came back out holding the receipt in front of his genitals.

The woman said she looked and saw the clerk was exposing himself to her. Reports said she left the store and called authorities.

RACINE

Tools and yard equipment stolen from garage

A lawn mower, snowblower and several tools, worth an estimated total of $7,300, were reported stolen from a garage at 1521 Monroe Ave. Sunday.

The owner told Racine police he parked his car in the garage Saturday around 10 p.m. When he went back out to the garage at noon Sunday, he noticed several things missing.

Police said the burglars gained entry to the garage by pulling off siding and punching a hole in the drywall.

CALEDONIA

School vandalized

A village police officer on patrol just before 1 a.m. Sunday found vulgar and racist graffiti spray painted on six sides of Caddy Vista School, 10010 Duane Court. An estimate of damage was not available.
